This guide attempts to provide general information and a starting point to learn about anti-oppression, inclusion, and privilege, as well as provide knowledge and resources to key social justice issues. The NYIT community is welcome to suggest resources.

Self care: Term coined by librarian, writer, and activist Audre Lorde, in her essay, "A burst of light"  where she explains that “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

Counseling at NYIT

NYIT offers counseling service for students faculty and staff, you are welcome to go to their office and speak to someone and use the completely confidential "How are you feeling screening"  a quick questionnaire that will yield recommendations and resources.
