3) Databases

NYIT students and faculty have access to 230 library databases. If you are looking for credible and trustworthy sources for your research, use the library databases.

For off-campus access, login using your mynyit login. 

4) Textbook Reserves

The library keeps reserve copies of many of the textbooks used in specific classes. Students can request these reserve books at the circulation desk and they can be checked out for 3 hours at a time. The library will also consider purchasing textbooks to add to our collection, so if we currently do not have a book, request it: https://www.nyit.edu/library/recommend_purchase

5) Printing & Photocopying

Students receive a generous allotment of print credit each year, which can be used for printing or copying

  • Full-time students receive $110 for the academic year
  • Part-time students receive $60 for the academic year

6) Computers & Wifi

 

The Manhattan Library has 42 desktop PCs for student use. In addition, the entire library is covered by a wireless network.

7) Innovation Labs

At the NYIT Innovation Labs (iLabs), students from all disciplines can explore technologies and services that foster experimentation and collaboration. Areas of focus include 3-D printing, scanning, and design; virtual and augmented reality; electronics and programming; and multimedia production.

8) Lending Tech

The Manhattan Library has a wide array of tech items (chargers, laptops, camcorders, Raspberry Pi kits, and much more) available for checkout.

9) Group Study Rooms

The library has two group study rooms, equipped with Mediscape workstations, available for patron use. Our group study rooms have white boards and the library lends markers and erasers. Group study rooms can be reserved on the library website by going to services and clicking Reserve a Manhattan Library Study Room.
