PubMed Clinical Queries

PubMed Clinical Queries provides specialized searches for COVID-19 Articles, Clinical Study Categories and Medical Genetics.

Clinical Studies Filter Categories

For the Clinical Studies search, choose from the categories: Therapy, Diagnosis, Etiology, Prognosis, or Clinical Prediction Guides (see the image below).

Clinical Studies: Scope

Clinical Studies scope are as:

Broad: Sensitive search – It's a more comprehensive search that includes relevant citations but probably less relevant; will retrieve more (default)
Narrow: Specific search – will get more precise, relevant citations but less retrieval

Apply Filter & Scope Options to Search Results

Search by applying Filter and Scope:

  • Enter your search terms in the search bar.
  • Adjust the Filter category and selected Filter(s) as needed.
  • Select a Scope: Narrow (specific search) or Broad (sensitive search).
  • Changing filter settings will automatically search with the new filter applied.
  • Preview the first five results for your search on the Clinical Queries page.
  • To view all results, click the link to "See all results in PubMed.
