The NYIT Manhattan Library Student Ambassador will help support their peer's research and library knowledge. They will promote library resources, space, borrowing, services, research guides, databases, research support, and ebooks at the student events.

Responsibilities

Students will be responsible for: 

  • Promoting library resources, spaces, borrowing services, research guides, databases, research support, and e-books at student events and informal peer- to peer interactions throughout the semester. 
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to provide a student perspective on library initiatives 
  • Occasionally attend library workshops, meetings, and student club events as a representative of the library. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the student body and the library 

Requirements

  • Fill out application 
  • Attend orientation 
  • Attend training session 
  • Be available for the full academic year
  • Be vocal about library services in classrooms and send library announcements emails to classmates 
  • Refer peers/classes to the library 
  • Reflection piece at the end of each semester as Ambassador
