Scavenger Hunt Part 1: Digital Hunt

Welcome to the first part of the Salten Scavenger Hunt! For this phase, you'll want to note everything down on a document and save a few screenshots. At the end of the Hunt, you'll have to submit your answers to the librarian at Salten to receive your prize!

  1. Visit the Library website and locate the catalog. Select "books and media" and search the library catalog for "Writing in the Health Professions." How many copies do the NYIT libraries have? At which libraries?
  2. Using the "Journals" tab on the library's main page, find the "Mechanical Engineering: The Journal of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering" journal. What years do the NYIT libraries have holdings for?
  3. From the library's home page, locate the "A-Z Database List." Take a screenshot of this page once you've found it.
  4. From the "A-Z Database" page and search for ProQuest. Using the advanced search function, find and screenshot a peer-reviewed article on "A Rose for Emily" published after 2015.
  5. Using the library home page once again, locate the form to book a reference librarian for an appointment. Take a screenshot of the available librarians' schedules at Salten.

Scavenger Hunt Part 2: Salten Library Hunt

  5. Check a copy of the book "The Wand in the Word" out at the Circulation Desk.
