PubMed Made Simple

This is a guide on how to search PubMed, the world's largest database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics.

Steps to Create RSS Feed

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for sharing and distributing Web content. Using an RSS reader, you will be notified when new content is published on the feeds that interest you, without cluttering your inbox with e-mail messages.
You can set up multiple PubMed searches for RSS feeds. PubMed RSS feeds will include citations retrieved by your PubMed searches since the last time you were connected to your RSS reader.

  1. To add PubMed searches to your collection of RSS feeds, run a search in PubMed
  2. The RSS feed name will default to the search terms. You can edit the RSS feed name as needed.
  3. Use the pull-down menu to select the number of items displayed anywhere from 5-100, the default is for 15 items.
  4. Click the Create RSS button.
  5. The RSS Feed Link will appear; click on Copy to copy the link.
  6. Use this link with your feed reader or other application.
