By making course materials accessible from a single online page, you'll save precious time that would otherwise be spent waiting for students to navigate to recommended resources from their hand-outs. Take advantage of this time by injecting interactive elements, such as icebreaker polls, review games, or even electronic versions of your paper-based activities (Google Forms is great for this).
Allow students to refer back to your presentation/slides as often as necessary. Use the MEDIA/WIDGET function to embed your Prezi, PowerPoint, or Google Slides presentation right on your course page.
Get to know your students! LibGuides polls and Poll Everywhere can be used to get a better idea of students' prior experience with the library and Kahoot! can be used to gamify your post-presentation review.
A screencast is a quick and easy way to show students how to conduct searches in databases relevant to their particular assignments. Many of the videos (and annotated screenshots) were captured using Jing. If interested in learning more about Jing, check out my workshop guide available here.
Want to see what your students absorbed from your session? Try transforming your paper handouts into a Google Form.
