Self care: Term coined by librarian, writer, and activist Audre Lorde, in her essay, "A burst of light"  where she explains that “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” Taking care of yourself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation.

Counseling at NYIT

NYIT offers counseling service for students faculty and staff, you are welcome to go to their office and speak to someone and use the completely confidential "How are you feeling screening"  a quick questionnaire that will yield recommendations and resources.
