Library Resources

Due to COVID-19, many of our most frequently used library books are no longer accessible. During this time, if there is a book that you need for a class fill out this form. We will purchase that item in e-book format, if possible.

We are working with instructors to explore and identify viable textbook alternatives, including:

  • Using an existing e-book in the relevant subject area from the library’s e-book collection or requesting that the library purchase one. There are many academic e-books that aren’t considered textbooks, and are therefore available for the library to purchase. Request a library purchase an available e-book.
  • Adopt an open educational resource (OER). OERs are freely available educational materials that are openly licensed to allow for re-use and modification. Using OERs ensures that students have free and unrestricted access to their course textbook on the first day of class.
  • Posting individual book chapters or excerpts and scanned copies of the content, subject to copyright limitations. Copyright permission will be sought where feasible in cases where the excerpt falls outside of fair dealing guidelines.
  • Linking to content from the library’s existing collection of electronic resources (e-books, journal articles, streaming media, and others.

Book Renewals

What do I do if my materials are overdue?

  • All libraries are closed. Keep all items (including interlibrary loan) until our buildings reopen. If you have overdue materials, don’t worry. Please keep the materials until the Libraries reopen.
  • Please note that late fines will be waived until the end of the semester.

Inter-library Loan

Current Students, Staff and Faculty may request to borrow an item that is not in our collection through InterLibrary Loan. DURING THE CLOSURE ONLY DIGITAL ITEMS CAN BE DELIVERED. To avoid delays, always check the Library Catalog to see if we own the item prior to submitting your request. Journal article requests whenever available are delivered electronically.
