Architecture Library - Innovation Lab

(Introduction to Makerspace and Lending Tech in the Art & Architecture Library)

Innovative technologies in the Art & Architecture Library.

Located in the Art & Architecture Library, Rm. 101, Education Hall, the Innovation Lab is an experimental creative space. Here, you can find technologies to try in the library or take home.

  • The lab provides members of the School of Architecture and Design and the larger New York Tech community with hands-on access to innovative technologies for designing or documenting projects.
  • Try using the photography, podcasting, GIS and maps, the Vibe board, vinyl cutting and virtual reality.
  • Library staff members are available for consultations. They can help you get started. Previous experience with the equipment is not required, but first-time users will be required to go through a brief orientation before using the equipment.
  • The Architecture Library Innovation Lab continues evolving as a collaborative makerspace for play and experimentation.
  • Spare Arts program provides a place to donate or borrow extra modelmaking and art supplies.  We’re busy brainstorming ideas for other resources and services the Innovation Lab can provide in the future, Share your interest and requests for new technologies at askalibrarian[at]nyit.edu.

More Library Innovation Labs include:
