Sagamore Hill, overlooking Cold Spring Harbor, in its day was a working farm. It was built in the "Queen Anne" syle for his second wife Edith Carow, and during TR's term in office, it was referred to as the "Summer White House". It hosted many heads of state, queens and kings. When TR was not working, he was romping with his six children on the great lawn, exploring the forests that surrounded the grounds, or swimming, boating and fishing in the harbor at the bottom of the hill.
