01/25/25: Dr. Balentine announced that Millie González, M.L.I.S, M.B.A., currently dean of library at Framingham State University in Framingham, Mass., will join New York Tech on February 24 as the university’s first dean of libraries. Read the full announdement,

09/2024: Dean of Libraries search committee chaired by Dr. Francine Glazer, Associate Provost, Educational Innovation/Director and Dr. Nicole Wadsworth, Dean of NYIT-COM. The firm, Greenwood Asher & Associates, began recruiting with an anticipated hire by January 2025.

August 29, 2024: 

  • Year 1 Summary presentation for Continuous Program Improvement (CPI).

May 2024:

February 2024:

  • A survey question about technologies offered in the libraries will circulate on the annual Academic Senate Educational Technology Committee survey this Spring 2024 semester. 

  • Libraries installed whiteboards and suggestion boxes to gather student feedback.

  • Salten, Manhattan and Art & Architecture Libraries introduce student staff to Library Ambassador roles and responsibilities. 

  • New Worldshare Management System Implementation has begun. The new service is expected to launch in June 2024. 

  • Off-campus Library Access improves with integration behind OKTA verify.

October 2023:

  • New study carrels and furniture and glass partition wall installed in the Salten Library.

  • Vijetha Ramajayam, Library Assistant, joins Manhattan Campus Library.

  • Library Assistants coordinate current student staff Library Ambassadors.

May 2023:

  • The Library and Academic Senate Library Systems Committee invites New York Tech students, faculty, and staff to complete the survey:

Help the Library Make Finding Information Easier

  • Manhattan Library recruits and trains three library Ambassadors. Read more about it on the Library Blog. 

  • Ebsco Folio and OCLC Worldshare vendor demonstrations and quotes were completed to Investigate and update to more efficient library management systems.

  • LibKey Nomad and Chrome plug-in increases the discoverability of scholarly, peer-reviewed, and discipline journal articles. Read more about it on the LibKey Nomad Guide

March 2023

  • The Library Team retains Dr. Karen Brown to facilitate the development of Strategic Plan Key Performance Indicators for this strategic plan.
