Artstor

Resource for digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences. Search images, books, articles, and primary sources in the ArtStor/JStor database.  JSTOR now offers over 2 million Artstor images and 800+ collections, including free Open Access resources, alongside its vast array of books and journal articles. Use JSTOR's Workspace tool to seamlessly save, organize, and utilize Artstor images with other content. New and existing users can explore Open Access research materials, from images to ebooks. Please Note: The Artstor website will retire on August 1, 2024, but you can access Artstor content on JSTOR today.

 

Institutional Repository

The NYIT Library Institutional Repository is currently accepting deposits for the 2023-2024 academic year. Consider recommending your graduate degree candidates to deposit terminal projects such as capstones and theses. Documents must be deposited as pdf files. At this time media and video files are not archived. This optional program continually accepts deposits and attendance at the information session is not required.

Guides edited by Faculty Librarians curate essential topics across subjects and courses. Contact the Library for a guide for your course. 

By the Numbers

This Spring 2024 semester, the Art & Architecture Library continued supporting School of Architecture and Design academic programs and faculty research, collection development, research consultations and class sessions.

  • Students in 18 different classes attended library instruction sessions. Topics covered included search strategy, locating information, locating and evaluating mapped data, crediting sources, and organizing research. Instructors are encouraged to request Library Instruction for research-based assignments seminar or studio courses. Instructions sessions take place in the library, studio, or virtually.
  • 40 students attended research consultations for a 1 on 1 and small group meetings with an Architecture Librarian.
  • 20 students explored architectural models at the Virtual Reality Workstation

Recent Acquisitions

  • Request publications for your research and course or explore Open Educational Resources.
  • Art & Architecture Library Student Assistants evaluate, select and display publications including books, articles, exhibits, and websites recognizing the celebratory moments across the diverse world of artists and designers.
