This agency falls under the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.  NTIS indexes and abstracts over 3 million publications covering over 350 subject areas. 

It is the largest central source for U. S. government-funded science, technical, engineering and business-related information.  By law, NTIS is required to sell its publications to recover some of the research costs associated with this research.

Nearly 40 subject catagories are listed on the NTIS homepage for easy browsing.  There is also a database provided for more specific searching.
